Television Market
Texas Student Television (TSTV) is the nation’s only student-run, FCC-licensed television station. TSTV’s over-the-air signal, channel 9, reaches homes in central and east Austin 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition, TSTV programming is available to 7,000 students at all times in 14 on-campus dormitories via cable channel 15 and in all non-residential buildings on campus cable channel 51.
TSTV programming also airs weeknights from 9 pm to 10 pm on Time Warner Cable channel 16, which provides service to 200,000 households. Dorm and broadcast viewers combined, 20,390 people watch TSTV.
The Collegiate Broadcasters, Inc., Society of Professional Journalists Fox News Network, Southwestern Journalism Congress, Texas Intercollegiate Press Association and The Austin Chronicle have awarded state and local accolades as well.
