Texas Student Television is the only student run, student produced, FCC licensed college television station in the country. Students can learn camerawork, directing, producing, writing, and much more. Working with a broadcast adviser, the student staff makes all decisions about programming, use of equipment, marketing, outside production projects and the direction of the station.

TSTV General Meeting

TSTV will have it’s General Spring Meeting for all interested volunteers. The meeting will allow those interested in joining TSTV to get a broad understanding of the station and see what opportunities are available. The meeting will be in the CMA Auditorium on January 24th, 2008 from 8 p.m.-10 p.m.

TSM Award Banquet May 4th @ 6pm

Join all of Texas Student Media at the Annual TSM Awards Banquet and Recognition Ceremony Friday, May 4th 2007 at the Salt Lick Restaurant in Driftwood, TX. Dinner will be served at 6pm followed by the award ceremony. No one will be served without a ticket.

Seth MacFalane visits UT-Austin

On April 13th 2007, Seth MacFarlane, creator of such hit shows as: Family Guy, American Dad, and The Winner, came to the University of Texas to speak about his experiences in the television industry. Durant Leaves Texas For The NBA

After only a year at the University of Texas, freshman phenom Kevin Durant declared for the NBA Draft in June. Durant and Texas coach Rick Barnes spoke at the press conference on Tuesday.

TSTV Sports: Conradt Retires

After coaching 31 years at the University of Texas, women's basketball Head Coach Jody Conradt announced her resignation. The Longhorns finished the 2007 season with an 18-14 record and failed to make the NCAA tournament for the second straight year.

TSTV Sports: Alamo Bowl 2006

On December 30, 2006, the Texas Longhorns beat the Iowa Hawkeyes, 26-24. Colt McCoy tied the NCAA freshman record with 29 touchdown passes and threw for over 300 yards. Chris Thomasson reports from San Antonio's Alamodome.

On December 10, 2006, the NFL's Tennessee Titans downed the Houston Texans in overtime, 26-20. The game was won with a dramatic 39-yard dash by the Texas alum, who is garnering praise from all around the league. Chris Thomasson reports from Houston's Reliant Stadium.

All right, that'll be enough jokes about MTV not playing music videos anymore. Thanks to Texas Student Television and one radio-television-film senior named Jerod Couch, Austin has found a better way to keep up with what's happening in hip-hop, locally and nationally. And there's something heartwarming about seeing Austin rappers like Kevin Jack and Tee Double alongside Ghostface Killah and Kanye West. With ATX, who needs MTV? We want our ATX!
