Classes

Anyone who is a current University of Texas student can work or volunteer at TSTV. All you have to do is take our FREE Studio certification class. This will help familiarize you with how things operate.

We also offer certification in the latest Final Cut Pro HD software as well as a News certification course that teaches the standards of professional journalism. These courses are a one-time cost that is good for the entire semester.

If you want to get even more involved, check out the Production 1 and 2 courses. Completion of these courses let you check out everything from digital cameras, to microphones, to lighting kits.

Editing 2 (Prerequisite: Editing 1)
Final Cut Pro HD is a powerful tool for post-production. You can use Final Cut Pro HD for more advanced types of post-production steps: color correction, motion effects and titles, sound design, etc. Whether you're working solo or collaborating with a team, Final Cut Pro HD gives you more creative options and technical control than ever before.

Master Control Operator
The Master Control Operator assures that all elements of on-air presentations are of the highest quality. Working with all Live shows at Texas Student Television, the MC Operator controls and monitors our signal to the student dorms and Timer-Warner Cable, records on-air programming, and operates and programs the MATCO automation system.
